FOR COMPLETE BEGINNERS - no prior knowledge required!

Se i quadri potessero parlare…

If the artworks could speak… What do you think they would say?

Join us for this 'walking workshop' to learn some Italian while you enjoy the beautiful collection of NGV International!

As we walk through the gallery, we will stop at a number of artworks where you will be encouraged to try to use some Italian to describe what you see and what you think might be ‘happening’ in the artwork (whether it is what the artist intended to convey or not!). You will be provided with some simple, printed materials on useful vocabulary and phrases for the session to help you get started and the WALKshop hosts will be there to support you along the way.

This session is for complete beginners - no prior knowledge of Italian required! This WALKshop is intended to be a fun and active language learning experience in a real-life context, far from any classroom, where the artworks serve as prompts to talk about and describe different things in Italian. It's all about having a little taste of Italian in an interesting and new environment!

The WALKshop will be led by Monica from Su Misura Italy, an experienced Italian tutor and native speaker, supported by Rebecca from Irregular Endings.

When: Saturday 11th May, 10.15am-11.45am

Where: NGV International - 180 St Kilda Road, Melbourne (meet in the Great Hall)

What's included: 1.5 hour experience to learn some beginner Italian at the NGV led by Monica from Su Misura Italy and printed WALKshop materials on useful vocabulary for the session

Tickets: $50 per person
